Kottayam is the nearest railway station, and the closest airport is Cochin International Airport. Most people reach Gavi through Thekkady, about 40 km away. The road’s a bit rough, but forests on both sides, a few spice farms, and now and then, monkeys watching you pass make the journey exciting.
September to February is my favorite time. Cool mornings, quiet trails, and skies so clear. Gavi is simple, raw, and honest — the kind of place that slows you down in the best way.
